Domaine de Mounet has been home for Philip and Colette Glasson and their two cats for over ten years since they moved here from Kent in 2011. They have discovered some amazing places to visit and wonderful restaurants in that time and will be happy to share this knowledge with you.

LE PETIT MOUNET is a charming one 'double' bedroom cottage with access to a large pool. It comprises double bedroom with an electronic bed and an en-suite walk-in shower room, large sitting/dining room and a well equipped kitchen.
Heating is by electric convector heaters but you probably won't need these in the Summer.

The gite features a large garden with several sitting areas that boasts lovely views of the Razes Hills and offer direct access to the large pool and hot tub which will be available for your use during your stay.
All bed linen and towels will be provided (including pool towels). There are also two bikes for your use whilst here.

There is plenty for guests to enjoy in the surrounding area. The cottage is ideally situated just two miles from the sleepy village of Hounoux (pronounced "Oonoox"), and six miles from Belveze du Razes which has a bank, grocers, hairdressers, pharmacy, restaurant and doctors.
Ten miles away is the beautiful cathedral city of Mirepoix with its gorgeous medieval market square, supermarkets, restaurants and a festival almost every week during the Summer. Limoux is just twelve miles away and is famous for the production of the sparkling wine called "Blanquette de Limoux" the secret recipe of which was "acquired" by the monk Dom Perignon whilst at l'Abbey de St Hilaire and taken to Riems where it was used to make Champagne. Arguably, Blanquette de Limoux is better and is certainly cheaper.
The city of Carcassonne is located 20 miles away where you will find an airport with links to London Stansted, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and East Midlands. It also has the fairy tale "Citadel", the Canal du Midi, a golf course and an amazing history to tell. Toulouse with air links to elsewhere in the UK is just 75 minutes away. The Pyrenees are just an hours drive, the Mediterranean about one and a half hours and Spain is 2 hours.
At Le Petit Mounet you will be surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Razes Hills and the largest wine producing area in the world (The Languedoc-Roussillon region). You won't be short of things to do during your stay here.
