Quirky little gite

Delightful little gite full of character. Compact but perfect for two.comes equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Romantic loft room but be cautious of the steep steps. .... especially coming down. ideal location for exploring both Normandy anf Brittany. The weather was slightly disappointing but lots to do and see in the surrounding towns and villages. Nice rural setting with views overlooking the countryside. At times there is some traffic noise but this wouldn't deter us from visiting again.. or using as a stop off to travel further south..a very enjoyable time spent in Pelican Gite. A very minor point would be some additional task lightling over the cooking area which would be useful. ..

Lovely

This is a lovely small gite, perfect for a base to visit the Manche Department. We stayed in August and the weather wasn't as kind as we had hoped, so the wood-burner was used each evening and was a bit of a life-saver. Downstairs was comfortable and included the under-stairs shower-room. All together, the kitchen/lounge was a pleasant place to spend the late evening. The bedroom is perfectly quaint, although the staircase is very steep and a little precarious when coming down. The property isn't on a main road, but there can be some traffic noise, particularly in the early mornings and late afternoons as locals come and go from work. The private garden and decking area were perfect for outdoor living and the covered patio area came in handy on a couple of occasions. Very happy to say that for a couple, this is an ideal place to use as a jump-off to western Normandy and we will definitely think about coming back, next time we're in the Normandy area.

A cosy retreat


What a wonderful little place, surrounded by a private garden with an uninterrupted view of the adjoining fields. The house itself is warm and cosy, a great place to relax and unwind - perfect for a romantic getaway, but also a great base to explore the surrounding scenery. Plenty of places to visit neaby. Part of a typical French village with a local bakery, shop and friendly locals.

Inside the gite itself there is a great balance of modern finishes and period features adding real character. It's equipped with the essential items everything works well.

We contacted the owners with a couple of queries and they were answered almost immediately so many thanks to them.

We have recommended it to our family and friends and should the opportunity arise we would happily stay again.

Lovely little gite

We have just spent a wonderful relaxing holiday at Le Pelican Gite. It is located within walking distance of Reffuveille, where you will find a bakery and local shop. The gite is in a very quiet position overlooking the countryside, is well equipped, very clean and extremely comfortable. You won't be disappointed with the gite and it is in a great location for touring Normandy. We look forward to visiting the gite again.

Sweet Gite

Le Pelican Gite was the perfect little getaway for what I needed, small but perfectly formed and in the perfect setting. Close to the village that has a patisserie and shop and also close enough to larger towns that have markets, shops etc.

Good location for exploring the surrounding countryside, easy journey to places like Avranches, Mont St Michel, Sees etc, was a pleasure to be there.

Gite has all you need for a short break, has a comfy bed and a nice feeling.

I would recommend this place to anyone!!

So cosy

We arrived Monday late afternoon to find the log fire burning to welcome us to this lovely little gite. It was very well presented and clean, modern shower room, and provided everything we needed for a winter break. The gite is well placed for sightseeing and exploring the local countryside - our 5 nights were very comfortable and quiet - just what we needed after days out in Dinan, Mont St Michel, Bayeux and all the D Day beaches, museums etc. surprisingly big supermarket in nearby Brecey as well as little local shops in Reffuvielle - lovely bread and pastries! Would love to return in the summer to enjoy the garden and lovely rural outlook. Highly recommend this accommodation .

A super little gite that represents outstanding value.

Everything needed is there and the location is within easy reach of the coast.

Both the owner and the local caretaker were extremely helpful.

Highly recommended - but watch the steep stairs!!

Lovely stay in an cute cottage.Well placed to explore Normandy,but hilly for cyclists .Great markets in surrounding villages

Slice of Heaven

A little slice of heaven in rural France. The Gite is small but perfectly formed, a mix of traditional stone and sympathetic modern restoration.

The ground floor consists of a single room with adequate kitchen, double sofa and a large wood burning stove. The kitchen is fitted with most of what you'd expect from this type of accommodation. The only thing missing is laundry services but that's not a problem if you prepare in advance. We managed a week here with only what we could carry on a motorcycle. There is a modern shower room situated under the stairs and it appears to have been recently renovated to a very high standard.

There is a TV, DVD player and DVDs, and a selection of good books to help you relax and recharge your batteries in the evening, after a day spent exploring.

The stairs which lead to the bedroom are quite steep but shouldn't be a problem if you have average mobility. The upstairs bedroom is just as charming as the downstairs room. Exposed beams and traditional furnishings ooze romance.

Located on a junction just outside a quiet village, there was occasional traffic noise but it was only once in a while and was never an issue.

This has been our second visit to the Gite and our 5th time to the area. The central location makes striking out into Normandy and Brittany convenient. The comprehensive welcome pack provides ideas and suggestions for places of interest and good places to eat.

I would highly recommend the Gite for couples of all ages. The feeling of seclusion (with WIFI!) provides the perfect balance.

Super cosy, everything & more.


Fantastic Gite for two, we were totally blown away by this stunning property everything about it was perfect. Majority of the weather for our stay was well seasonal to say the least (New year break) it was ever so cosy to be snuggled up in the evenings with the log burner & bottle of wine, the bedroom lovely, bathroom superb equipped with one of the best showers we have ever used, the village too has everything you need, bakers for daily fresh bread and village store all within walking distance. On nicer days a stroll around nearby Avranches visiting it's Cathedral, churches, and Castle was a treat together with a walk up to the castle ramparts gave great views of the city & beyond. Other days spent with lunch in Granville followed by a long walk on the beach off Dragey-Ronthon with stunning views of le Mont St Michel will make this a trip we will never forget. Looking forward to returning for sure. Excellent throughout.
