My family (6 adults and one toddler) stayed at La Douverie in May 2019 for my mother's 70th birthday. The house was really easy to find and everything we'd hoped for. Loved the heated pool, the beautiful gardens - and the covered terrace was perfect for a few of the more rainy days. The weather was a bit patchy the week we were there, so we did spend the first few days at the house, but it was no matter as it has such a lovely interior - the lounge, dining room and kitchen all beautifully decorated, as well as spacious and well equipped. There is also very little noise - just a few passing cars, so you can make the most of the beautiful views seen from the gardens. The local village has a bakery and a little shop only a few moments walk away with everything you could need, and for anything more, Duras is only a short drive or bike ride away. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful, and any problems were sorted quickly. We hired bikes via the information provided by Liz the owner, booked a local chef for the birthday meal, and took advantage of the welcome meal and groceries provided by the housekeeper - which all worked out great. Would happy recommend the house to anyone and would be more than happy to visit again.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at La Douverie which was chosen as it is very near to my brothers house and we wanted to get all the family together to celebrate my ‘special’ birthday. Well we couldn’t have made a better choice!.... I can only reiterate the previous reviews. The house is stylish, comfortable, extremely well equipped, well located and ideal for a multi generational holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

We were a group of 8 adults and 2 infants that stayed here for a week from the 17th to the 24th September 2016. I can't recommend this property enough, location is brilliant, such a pretty area and lots to do and the farmhouse itself is just gorgeous. So much space for everybody, lovely and clean. The outside eating and lounge area was lovely...was gorgeous sitting out there in the morning having breakfast and in the evening as the sun was coming down and pool was fab!! We will definitely be back!!

This is an outstanding property. When short listing suitable properties La Douverie stood out among its peers. The owner Liz was extremely helpful throughout the booking process, showing great patience when fielding all manner of questions. The house has been renovated to a really high standard, spacious, and incredibly well equipped. In total there were 6 adults and two toddlers in our party but lots of room for future additions. The children had a wonderful time in the heated pool, large trampoline, indoor playroom and outdoor play area. High chairs, cots and stair gates were all provided. La Douverie stands in some beautiful gardens on the edge of a charming little village in easy strolling distance to a small shop, pharmacy and boulangerie (with excellent pain au chocolat!). Duras, a larger town is five minutes away. It has a really well stocked supermarket and quite a colourful market during the week. I have hesitation in recommending this property. Enjoy.

Our family of 9 adults and 2 children stayed here for 1 week in July, the house is large enough that we never felt crowded. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Very child friendly with a playroom, outdoor play area, trampoline and pool cover for safety. The owners left a very helpful information pack with lots of recommendations of places to eat and things to see. The area is beautiful and while situated in a small village, the house is well placed for visiting Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion or further south. I would highly recommend this house as place to stay in the area. We had a great time!

We recently spent the most delightful week at this house, which accommodated a group of 10 adults with ease. Granted the weather was so good we only used the kitchen, bedrooms and poolside area, but the house has room in spades and plenty of quiet cool spots to relax and take time out if needed. The house has been decorated to a very high standard and we could find no fault. It was the perfect spot for a family get-together. Levignac is a sleepy village, the local bar and restaurant have recently closed but plans are afoot to re-open soon. The shop and village bakery are all sort walks and the weekly visit by the Pizza van (Thursday evening by the church) was a welcome treat. Duras is a short hop away and has everything to keep you going for the week if you haven't stocked up on your way down and there are plenty of local markets to keep you enthused about the local food, Eymet was the best of the bunch and about 20 mins away. This was the ideal spot, out of the way, quiet and very well equipped and we have no hesitation in recommending it.
