Villa La Bacchante offers you a unique combination opportunity for an ideal holiday in Provence. The stylish villa with panoramic view is quietly situated on a southern ridge, protected from the Mistral, near Rasteau, a wine village famous for its great Côtes du Rhône Cru and Vin Doux Naturel wines, next to the famous Domaine des Girasols.
 
From the spacious covered terrace of this exclusive villa in Provence you can enjoy unparalleled views of the vine-covered valley of the Ouvéze River, behind the rocky ridge of the Dentelles des Montmirial in the south and the front area of ​​the Alps (Les Baronnies) in the east. ), a beautiful panoramic view that cannot be captured with a few photos.  
 
The 2000 m2 garden with fig and olive trees offers an oasis of peace, privacy, shaded and sun-drenched areas and a private swimming pool (4x10 m, can be closed safely) with a breathtaking view of 30 km to the east and south. Within walking distance you can taste and buy the wines of the Domaine, and get fresh bread in the morning (800 m) in the rustic center of Rasteau where you feel that time has stood still for 50 years.
 
The luxury stone villa, built by the original vineyard owner, is spacious (200 m2) and furnished with style and is now the property of the co-owners of Domaine du Crestet which is located a few minutes distance. After an international career, they settled in Crestet in 1999. Based on their successful 7 years of experience in holiday home rental in Crestet, they bought the villa in Rasteau in early 2007 and completely restored it and are looking forward to providing you with a good reception in Rasteau as well.
 
The Accommodation Facilities:
Under the high ceiling of the 40 M2 large stylish living room with fireplace is an impressive wooden truss construction. The kitchen is fully equipped with a six-burner hob, ideal for those who enjoy good cooking and connects to the large covered terrace with a 10 seater dining table overlooking the garden, pool and valley. The villa is built in a ridge and has two floors.
There are five double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms: two bedrooms have an en-suite shower and washbasin. There is also a bedroom with bathroom located next to the bedroom with bath with shower, toilet and two sinks. The fourth and fifth bedrooms share a shower with washbasin and a separate toilet. Two rooms have a double bed of 160x200cm, the other rooms each have 2 beds of 90x200cm that can also be made up as a double bed. The beds have duvets and quality sheets/covers. All rooms have ceiling fans and beautiful views. There is a separate toilet in the hallway. Downstairs you will find a utility room, bicycle storage and small wine cellar stocked with local wines from which you can choose your daily wine at cost. The fourth and fifth bedrooms and the relaxation room with piano and tennis table are also located here. The fifth bedroom is very spacious and also has access to the garden and a small sitting area with kitchenette.
 
The villa is fully equipped: washing machine, dryer, TV (satellite Astra 1), DVD player with DVDs and USB input, hi-fi audio with CD player and USB input, central heating, piano, tennis table, 6 burner stove, oven & grill, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, 2 refrigerators, BBQ, patio furniture, movable cot, high chair, extensive and complete kitchen utensils, crockery, etc. etc.). Internet access (ADSL Wi-Fi).

Your dog is welcome upon individual approval.
 
The space and furnishings make the villa an ideal joint holiday opportunity for a large family, two smaller families or a number of couples. The villa is big but you don't feel lost there; a third of our tenants consist of 2 or 4 people who like to live in a spacious house!

Local Attractions

Villa La Bacchante is situated 800 m outside the old center of Rasteau, in the Côtes du Rhône cru wine village. To the west you find the wide open Rhône valley covered with vineyards, to the east the start of the pre-Alps with the famous Mont Ventoux, and to the south the hills, forests and mountain ridges of the Dentelles de Montmirail.

The Cities of Avignon and Orange are within 30 minutes driving, providing a high speed train (TGV) connection to Lyon and Paris in less than 2-3 hours. International airports Marseille and Montpellier are within 90 minutes driving.

In peaceful and quiet Rasteau (851 inhabitants) at about 900 m from the villa, you will find around the market square a bakery (pick up your fresh croissants and baguettes with a nice morning walk through the vineyards), a post office, tourist office, a café, and a restaurant. 2km to the east is Roaix. This village has a small supermarket, a bakery, a butcher, a hair dresser, a post office, a café and 2 restaurants. Many shops, restaurants, a week market and 4 big supermarkets can be found in Vaison-la-Romaine (7 mins.)
HIKING AND BIKING:
Starting at the villa many tracks in between the vineyards and the forests and across the valley in the Dentelles de Montmirail (5-15mins.), also great for limestone rock climbing. Horseback riding - (10 min.) Golf course: 15 mins. The famous Mont Ventoux (Tour de France, 1912 m) - ( 20-40 min): cycling, hiking, skiing. Beautiful secluded rock beaches in the Toulourenc canyon and at Les Trois Rivières - (20 min.) Canoeing on the Ardèche river - (35 mins.)
