Brian et Gill sont des hôtes exceptionnels. Nous avons eu la joie de partager le dîner du jour du mariage du prince Harry et de Meghan Markle, so british! La cuisine était dans la pure tradition anglaise.

La propriété est d'une beauté à couper le souffle, un vrai paradis sur terre. L'ancien moulin donne évidemment sur la rivière, les sauts des poissons, le pépiement des oiseaux, la traversée des cygnes et le vol des canards sauvages, les nénuphars auprès desquels il est possible de passer en canoë kayak, si aimablement prêté par nos hôtes. On vogue alors au milieu d'une nature enchanteresse et débordante de vie.

Le logement entier qui nous était réservé était décoré avec goût, images des nombreux voyages de Gill et de Brian (Inde , Hong-Kong)...

Nos hôtes étaient à la fois prévenants et discrets et ont accueilli avec une grande gentillesse notre petit garçon de 5 ans.

Nous avons hâte de revenir!

Brian and Gill are very welcoming and the riverside location is magic. We really enjoyed our stay it was very relaxing.
Little extras like a bottle of wine, pâté and crisp breads were left and a selection of home-made jams were much appreciated.
The kids loved trying fishing and the kayak.
A very lovely 2 days were spent. Thank you.

The Moulin is in an idyllic location, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The owners are warm and welcoming and the accommodation has everything you could wish for. We loved the area, with interesting places to visit - local markets, Poitiers, Chauvigny etc. though we could have happily just sat by river and read.

You simply can't fail to enjoy Moulin de la Ronde. It is a stunning property with great hosts. Simply perfect. Thank you Brian and Gill. X

This spacious gite and its scenic setting are equally stunning. We appreciated how much of our home for a week reflected the personal experiences of our hosts while providing so many amenities to make us comfortable. The bed was first rate, the kitchen ample for us to cook our morning and evening meals, the wood stove a wonderful treat on chilly evenings. The island-filled river on which the mill sits is surpassingly beautiful. We regret not spending more time on it, but Chauvigny, a wonderful historic town nearby, called to us, as did the riches of Poitier only half an hour away and the beautiful but tongue-twisting village of Angles sur l'Angle. We recommend the bakery in Lavoux 10 minutes away for the finest pastries in Vienne. The local sports bar also puts together a fine lunch meal at moderate cost. Our hosts were utterly gracious and accommodating while respecting our privacy, and we enjoyed visiting with them.

Its impossible to give a title to a review of La Ronde in a sentence, the title a book the review could be an anthology! The main thing on offer is peace, time appears to stand still at La Ronde until you're suddenly aware you have to leave. There is nothing sweet about the sorrow of parting from here. We saw otters every day, a wide range of birds and other wildlife during our stay, we used the bikes to cycle to the chateau d'eau although thanks to my wifes planning we followed that up in the afternoon by a trip on the Velorail which was not a good move... Bonnes is a sleepy village with a bakers and a couple of small shops that open sometimes. The only bar/restaurant is the Café des Sports where Sunday lunch is not to be missed 5 courses, 1 litre of wine plus pineau and coffee was 17euros and only a 5 minute or so walk away (hic)! Chauvigny has all the usual facilities of a small French town with several small supermarkets but a large E Leclerc on the road out towards Poitiers. the only minor issue we had was the wifi was sporadic but available but that didn't affect the holiday at all. We loved our stay, we're going back again next year all I ask is that you continue to feed the Barbel in the millstream!
