Spacious Farmhouse rental in Lullin, France / Comfortable Chalet, Great for Family Skiing and Summer Activities, Sleeps 10 People

Treat yourself to the mountain experience ! This rental property is a traditional Savoyard farmhouse in a privileged location with spectacular mountain and valley views. The house is spacious, has been recently renovated to a high standard and is very comfortable. There are two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, plus a mezzanine with a 4-poster bed. The open plan kitchen/dining room has a wood burning range - perfect for frosty mornings! All modern equipment is provided including gas & electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The large dining table seats 10. There is a laundry and coat room as well as a separate room for ski / snowboard storage. There are 3 sitting rooms - one downstairs with wood burning stove, satellite TV and DVD players. The upstairs sitting room has an impressive cathedral ceiling and Italian wood burning stove. The mezzanine sitting room has wonderful views, B&W ipod dock. Logs are provided.

Located 10 minutes from a reasonably priced local ski station, Hirmentaz/Bellevaux, the house is ideal for families/groups of skiers at different levels of ability. For non-skiers there are guided snowshoe walks, sledging or just relaxing by the fire. A bit further afield (35 mins drive to Morzine) is the extensive Portes de Soleil ski area with more than 600kms of runs.

In the summer a wide range of activities are available in the nearby town and villages, and the mountain resorts of Morzine and Chatel. Why not try mountain biking, rafting, Via Ferrata or a visit to a local farm? There are lakeside beaches at Evian (30 mins) and Annecy (60 mins). Both offer swimming, sailing and other water sports. From Evian you can take the boat across the lake to beautiful Swiss resorts such as Montreux and Vevey. Closer to home you could hike directly from the house onto some spectacular mountain paths.

There is a good size garden with a terrace by a small stream, dining table and chairs, barbeque and a spectacular view. The garden and surrounding pastures are full of wild alpine flowers, relatively rare flowers such as gentians and cowslips are common here.

For relaxation there are very good local restaurants and excellent local produce on the door step if you would like to cook for yourselves.

NB we have lots of snow in winter which makes a lovely 'winterwonderland' atmosphere, but it also means you must have a suitably equipped car - 4x4 or snow chains for the winter months.

Local Attractions

Winter and summer are high tourist season in this area of the Haute Savoie, so you will find something interesting happening everywhere you go.

The ski stations are fully equipped and ready to help you enjoy your winter sports; restaurants are serving local specialities (fondue, raclette, tartiflette, vin chaud); every town/village has a calendar of special events. You will be spoilt for choice when deciding whether to ski locally, spend a day in the magnificent Porte du Soleil ski area, or maybe just stay by the fire at the farmhouse and relax.

Summer is equally busy with ski lifts converted to take mountain bikes and hikers up to the mountain tops. There are festivals and fairs in many villages, and local producers open their doors so that you can try local food and drink and get a taste of mountain life. The full range of water sports are on offer in the lakeside towns of Evian and Annecy - swimming, canoeing, fishing, and of course you have the vast range of surrounding mountains to explore.
