La Motte Parent gites are situated at the end of a short cul-de-sac in the heart of rural Brittany surrounded by beautiful countryside yet within a few minutes walking distance of the small town of Plouguenast where there is a lazy bar or two, inn, restaurant, boulangerie, florist, hairdresser, chacuterie, creperie, post office, pharmacy, small but very well stocked supermarket with a 24/7 petrol station. Also there is even a small cinema!

We believe that our gites will appeal to all, situated, as they are, in the heart of the peaceful, quiet Breton countryside yet with the coast in easy reach by car and day-to-day amenities within walking distance. Individuals, couples, families and groups of all ages can be as active (or as inactive) as they choose and children can play safely in the gardens. The area is great for walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing etc. or simply relaxing. And there are numerous golf-courses.

The cultural centre and Departement capital; St. Brieuc, with its beautiful surrounding beaches, is only 30 to 40 minutes by car as is the celebrated beach at Val Andre with its shops and sea­front casino. Beautiful Lake Guerledan, with its water sports and restaurants, is 25 minutes and the small, pretty medieval town of Moncontour, with its half-timbered houses, ramparts and towers is only 15 minutes. On the other hand, why not just relax: birdsong or the occasional mooing of cows are the only noises unlikely to disturb you.

We acquired the properties in spring 2010 and have since spent considerable time and effort on bringing them up to the standard and finish that you would expect from first class holiday accommodation whilst still maintaining their character. There is a Laundry Room with washing machine and drier for guest use and we provide sun-beds, parasols and barbecues at no charge so there is no need to bring these items with you.


We have two gites: La Garenne (Sleeps 4-5) AND La Pompe (Sleeps 2-3).

LA GARENNE is our larger gite. Upstairs it has two bedrooms: the larger with a king sized double bed and single sofa-bed and the smaller with two single beds. There is a bathroom with a bath (with shower attachment), a W.C. and hand basin. Downstairs is a comfortable, spacious lounge / dining room with Sky Freeview TV (bring your own Sky card for additional channels) French TV and DVD and a separate small fitted kitchen and a utility room with downstairs toilet. Adjacent is a free to use Laundry Room with washing machine and tumble drier. To the rear is a large garden with patio, country views and spectacular sunsets!
