Fantastic complex of 5 self catering gites with heated swimming pool in the Charente Maritime. Formerly a Cognac distillery, it has now been converted into a beautiful complex of 5 separate holiday homes. The properties boast sun terraces, outside seating, parasols for shade, sunloungers, summer kitchens and bbq areas. The gardens are large and are set amongst the stunning Poitou-Charentes countryside. La Foye is usrrounded by extensive fields of sunflowers and vineyards. The Forest of Aulnay is nearby and the area is great for enjoying walks and bike rides. It offers the ideal location for a relaxing french break in the countryside with fine cuisine and friendly people.

All the gites are well decorated and furnished to a high standard. They all comprise fully fitted kitchens, comfortable bedrooms, Satellite TV, a library of DVD’s, videos and books. Linen and bath towels are provided.

The Heated pool has its own alarm and plenty of loungers and chairs. We also have a Hot Tub which is available when the pool is not in commission.

There is Boules, table tennis and salle de jour which can be used by guests for yet further entertainment.

Le Gîte du Portail is a delightful and spacious two bedroom stone gite that is set in an enclosed courtyard. This lovely holiday home has been renovated to a very high standard offering spacious accommodation for up to 4 guests. The property is approached through grand entrance gates and boasts its own large, partially shaded garden that enjoys great views over the fantastic open countryside. It is surprisingly large inside with thick stone walls, making it cool in summer and very cosy in the winter months.

There is a both comfortable and fully equipped lounge and dining room. The attractive and well equipped kitchen has a tiled floor and offers plenty of storage.

Upstairs are two sizeable bedrooms – One double bedroom and one twin bedroom. Both bedrooms are very comfortable and benefit from fitted carpets and rugs.

Opposite the gite is the spacious garden which enjoys plenty of shade and extensive views over open fields. Table, chairs, and parasol are provided. Great birdlife.
