This beautiful renovated Aude farmhouse rental is located on a smallholding in the middle of the pine forests and hills with magnificent views across the region. Guests will enjoy use of the private garden and will have access to the owner’s large pool. The four acre smallholding is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing holiday any time of year.

The property comprises 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is located in the attic and has twin beds, a sofa bed, table and chairs and an en suite toilet with basin. Bedroom 2 is found up stairs with just a single bed in and bedroom 3 which is also on the first floor has a double bed with a luxury en suite bathroom. An additional large shower room , separate toilet and washbasin can be found on the ground floor. Downstairs you will find a fully equipped American style kitchen with everything you need including a gas cooker, microwave oven, fridge and a selection of cooking utensils. A sink and both washing machine and dishwasher are found in a separate area.

The tastefully decorated living room is furnished with a large comfortable sofa, an additional sofa bed, comfortable chairs, TV,DVD, CD player and radio. There is a pine table along with a large pine unit and seating for up to 8 people in the dining area.

As the property is part of a working smallholding with a farm next door , you must consider that outside you will find machinery, animals and water and a small river.

You will find your own private courtyard and garden with dining table, chairs and a gas barbecue. With fantastic views of the valley, there is a good mixture of sunshine and shaded areas, sun loungers are also provided. Our guests also have full use of our large swimming pool which is situated in a spacious grassed area. Please note we asked that children are accompanied by a responsible adult.

Although a large amount of the property is on one floor it is not suitable for wheelchairs, this is due to access to the pool being via a few steps.

There a number of walks that take you through the pine forests and scenic fields, all of which are very close to the property. There are spectacular drives through the rolling hills of the Corbieres, dramatic gorges, Cathar castles perched on rocky outcrops with a number of stunning mountains and valleys that can be explored on foot, bicycle or by horse.

Just a 10 minute drive will take you to the wonderful Chalabre or Belesta, both of which have a number of bars, restaurants, shops, banks, a garage, petrol, post office and supermarkets.

The region is loaded with places of both cultural and historic interest. Such as the prehistoric parks, Cathar castles to the old bastide town of Mirepoix and the world heritage site, the city of Carcassonne.
