Normandy Holiday rental Cottage Near Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouet, Manche, France

Former Miller's Cottage in Rural Location. It dates to the mid 19th century and has original huge oak beams with woodburner fireplace (evidence of bread oven at the back of the chimney). Enjoy the garden and south facing terrace with garden furniture, barbecue, etc.

The property is within easy reach of so many attractions and places of interest including Mont St Michel, Bayeaux, D-day landing beaches and military cemeteries, water and fun parks, zoos, museums, bathing beaches and so much more. A visit to the Tourist Offices in Mortain or St Hilaire is well worthwhile where full up to date information on everything happening in the area is available.
Supermarkets (LeClerc, Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi, etc) are located in both the nearby market towns of Mortain and St Hilaire (Wednesday market in St Hilaire is one of the biggest in Normandy - day old chicks to tractors on sale).

Eating out is generally good value for money everywhere and the restaurant Anacapri in St Hilaire can be recommended for high quality at a reasonable price, usually best to book a table in advance. For a taste of true France try Chez Agnes at Lapenty only open lunchtimes Mon - Fri but be sure to arrive early before 12.30 for your Menu de Jour which is limited but always a treat.

Le Moulin des Hiboux offers plenty of room for games, swingball, boules etc. The property is bounded by the trout stream La Querche and the area is rich in wildlife, look out for numerous species of birds and the occasional, squirrel, coypu or deer. There is parking for 3 cars on hard standing inside the gate.
