The Domaine de Peyloubère is a 35-acre château estate located near Auch in the heart of Gascony, south-west France. Self Catering cottages, all totally refurbished and re-equipped, accommodate from two to eight people and Bed & Breakfast (Chambre d'hôte) is offered in two suites of rooms in the Manoir. Guests have exclusive use of the 40ft heated swimming pool as well as the health and fitness cabin with sauna, jet shower, exercise bike and ski trainer as well as a private garden and sunbathing terrace.
'les Rosiers, 'Giulietta', 'les Cèdres' and 'Fermier' are all very different in size and shape and, together with the main house, are arranged around a circular rose garden. 'Les Iris' has an outlook across the wildflower meadow to the fishing lake. Each cottage has its own entrance and they are arranged at differing angles to maintain privacy.
This offer may be suspended for the remainder of 2020 depending on the pandemic situation :- During the High Season (18th July to 28th August 2020) a complimentary dinner is offered to all guests on Sunday evenings. These are informal and convivial occasions and include non-meat dishes for our vegetarian guests. For those guests who like peaceful evenings 'at home' but want a break from the kitchen, dinner if also offered on two or three weekday evenings, depending on demand. Here again vegetarian dishes are a speciality. For informal events for up to forty people, contact us to discuss and for an estimate.
All this as well as 35 acres of woodland, lakes and gardens and lots to do and see nearby, makes Peyloubère an ideal self catering or touring location.
Peyloubère is classified as a 'Monument Historique' by virtue of the fact that it was the home of the Italian painter, Mario Cavaglieri for over forty years. Legacies of his ownership are the frescoed ceilings in many of the rooms of the Manoir, the graceful Italian garden and the relaxed, bohemian atmosphere of the Domaine.
Accommodation:
‘Giulietta’ - Named after the adored wife of Mario Cavaglieri, ‘Giulietta’ is a charming, spacious cottage on two floors suitable for up to six people.
The shady walled garden and terrace is ideal for barbecues or private sunbathing and leads through wide french windows into the modern kitchen. Here, the oven, hob, work surface and storage cupboards are housed in a central island unit and a wooden staircase leads up to the first floor. Wide steps lead down from the kitchen into the spacious living room where exposed stone walls, rustic beams and the iron manger are evidence of its previous use. Large french windows look out over the rose garden. There is a WC on the ground floor.
On the first floor there are three spacious bedrooms, two with twin beds and the master bedroom with a large 150cm double bed. All have the original polished wooden floors and the master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and external stone stairway and balcony facing the evening sunset. There is a separate bathroom with WC and a useful storage cupboard.
The Domaine de Peyloubere is a 35-acre chateau estate located 6km south of Auch in the heart of Gascony, south-west France. Five self catering holiday cottages on the estate. Giulietta sleeps 6.
