Welcome to Le Clos de la Rose
Hello and welcome to our gîtes which are situated in a charming, wine producing village not far from Saumur in the Loire Valley.
Our garden looks out onto vineyards and our gîtes have been lovingly restored to provide you with comfort, style and character.
They are perfectly situated for visiting the famous Loire Valley châteaux, wine tasting, relaxing, or doing more active pursuits such as walking, cycling, canoeing and flying.
The Loire Valley is a very special area of France and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with a rich culture, famous for its enchanting châteaux, imposing river, great wildlife, and gastronomic food and wine.
Our property is a traditional “Corps de Ferme” (farmstead) with honey coloured limestone buildings built around a large courtyard. Many of the outbuildings (one of which dates back to the 18th century) were originally used for wine-making which is still the main activity in and all around the village today.
We have two gîtes: La Maison du Vigneron and La Maison d’Amis both of which have been awarded three stars by Anjou Tourist Board. La Maison du Vigneron has two generously proportioned en-suite bedrooms which will comfortably sleep up to four adults. La Maison d’Amis is a ground floor, one bedroom cottage which sleeps up to 2 people. There is also Le Grenier which is a large suite which may be available to be booked in conjunction with either gîte to accommodate a larger party, or provide extra space. Our gîtes look out onto the large landscaped courtyard which also offers our guests ample, secure, covered parking. The gîtes have been lovingly restored to provide you with comfort and style whilst maintaining their original charm and character. They are all completely non-smoking and give flexibility for comfortably accommodating from one person to a party of up to eight adults.
There is a large secret garden and small orchard accessed through a gate at the end of the courtyard which is perfect for relaxing in. It is also the ideal place to enjoy a glass or two of your favourite drink as you watch the sun set over the vineyards beyond.
