by Simon Matthews on in Aritcles1

So you are heading to France, after finding your perfect French getaway on Rent in France. What do you bring?

Make your holiday easier with our travel checklist and packing tips.

Packing Tips

Liquids Rule

If you are carrying liquids in your hand luggage, please be aware that there are strict limitations on how much you can bring. Each liquid item can be no more than 100ml, and all liquids must be placed in to a one litre transparent bag (usually available before security) If you have larger items, be sure to place them in your checked luggage.

Medication

It’s handy to prepare a small bag of essential medicines (prescription only) and essential items for headaches, stomach upsets and other ailments you may suffer during the holiday. If you suffer from allergies and asthma, it’s a good idea to bring medicines for this too.

Name Tags

You may think it may never happen to you, but there are cases of missing/lost luggage. It’s a good idea to obtain name tag labels if you have not got any and make sure you complete all the information!

Restrictions on Luggage

Make sure you observe any restrictions your airline may have on luggage. Weigh your bags before you arrive at the airport, and be sure to keep within the luggage allowance, otherwise you may be forced to repack or incur some hefty weight restriction charges!

Cosmetics

It is always a good idea to try and keep these to a minimum. A good tip is only take what you really need for the duration of your trip. That way you have less to carry and have some extra room in your luggage for your trip back home.

Don’t Forget the Adaptors

Make sure to bring these, as they could be more expensive to buy at the airport!

Roll Your Clothes

We advise that rolling your clothes really does save much needed suitcase space. It also helps to reduces creases and wrinkles!

Shoes

What type of shoes to take is really down to what activities you will be doing. However we recommend bringing around three pairs for a 1-2 week getaway. Make sure you bring relevant footwear to any activity you may be doing.

Save Space for your Holiday Purchases

Whether its souvenirs, mementos and duty free goods its almost inevitable that you will be bringing more back home with you than when you left – make sure you have room for it!

Place all Valuables in your Hand Luggage

This is a good idea in case the airline does lose your luggage. That way at least you will have all your valuables such as jewellery, cameras, laptops etc. with you.

Check the Weather Before you go

This is all dependant to where you go, however it’s always a good idea to check the forecast before, so you can pack accordingly.
