This Luxury Dordogne holiday house is located in the heart of the little market town of Riberac, yet is set in a haven of peace and tranquillity. Its close proximity to the town centre means you do not need to take turns driving or running a taxi service for the older children during your stay. The house boasts a walled garden making it safe for children.
The main entrance is through double front doors through which you will walk into a large tiled hallway with the main rooms to your left and right. In the spacious living area you will find a large television with satellite TV and seating for up to 10 people. For those who wish to read or maybe even work, there is a quiet area in the study.
The fully equipped kitchen is electric and has everything you should require including a cooker, hob, fridge, deep freezer, a double sink, American fridge, dishwasher and microwave. For informal meals there is a large kitchen table with plenty of seating with the traditionally furnished dining room found next door. A toilet and a separate shower room can also be found on the ground floor. The washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron can be found in the utility room. With a total of 5 bedrooms the house sleeps 10 people comfortably, Bedroom 1 and 2 have large double beds and en suite bathrooms, the 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds and also has an en suite shower room. The remaining bedrooms share the family bathroom and there is the option of two single beds or a double bed in each.
Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the house. ipod station also available.
Outside the house you will find a large courtyard. Beyond the courtyard is a private heated swimming pool with terrace. There is also a large garden, part of which is a wooded area, lovely for a wander and fun for children.
There is a BBQ for you to use during your stay with us.
There are four restaurants and cafes all within walking distance of the house and plenty of others in Verteillac, Bertric Buree and Lusignac which are all a short car journey away. Cooking here has a rustic French feel as well as international and the wine of the area needs no introduction. Medoc Medoc, Bordeaux, Graves, Sauternes , and many more. The local aperitif of choice is the fortified white wine Pineau de Charentes.
Other areas of interest include the principal town of Periguex and Brantome , known as the Venice of The Perigord, both of which are approximately 50 minutes away. With their wonderful architecture, ancient buildings and history we would definitely recommend a visit during your stay. A little further away is Les- Eyzies-de-Tayac where you can see the ancient cave paintings and carvings and probably the most famous of them all would be Lascaux which is only 2 hours away and easy on French roads.

The town of Riberac is well known for its large market on Fridays, there is also a farmers market on Tuesdays. During October come and buy our beautiful walnuts and you will also find special markets that sell foie gras and truffles during the winter months.
For our active guests there are plenty of sports available in Riberac itself. With bicycles for hire, there is also canoeing and riding. Maybe you fancy a game of tennis where you can book tennis courts by the hour or by the week. For the golf lovers there are several 9-hole golf courses within 20 minutes and an 18 hole golf course at Perigueux which is approximately 50 minutes away. If you do find you are tired of the private pool at the house Riberac does have a large outdoor swimming pool which also has diving boards and a childrens pool, there is also a wonderful riverside beach in the village of Aubeterre.
The whole area is famed for food and drink and tastings and tours abound and throughout the summer there are antique markets, food fairs and festivals all around the region. For the culturally inclined in July Riberac hosts a 4-day pop concert. Just a short walk from the house is the deconsecrated 12th century romanesque church, Collegiale-Notre-Dame de Riberac, you will be able to enjoy wonderful concerts here throughout the year.
