we have stayed here at least once a year for the l..

we have stayed here at least once a year for the last 5 years with family and friends.Albert has always given us a warm welcome and we feel we have become like family. The property benefits from a superb location being the closest property to Lac Dathee. The views are fantastic from the decking or the back bedrooms. Both my sons have played golf at the course both as a 9 hole and now a superb 18 hole course. They also enjoy fishing on the lake. The local town of Vire has everything a holidaymaker could require with 5 supermarkets and several shops that open on sunday.
Market day is friday and is spread out over much of the town.If you tire of self catering there are several restaurants in and around the town.
Vire is centrally placed for visits to the Landing beaches,Caen,Mont ST Michel and Rennes all within 2 hours on the good motorway links.
We would thoroughly recommend this property to friends and relatives.

My husband and Grandchildren have stayed at Berts ..

My husband and Grandchildren have stayed at Berts Place for the last 3 summers and intend to go again this summer, the Panoramic views of the lake and the Golf course beyond are stunning, we walked the lake perimeter every day, sometimes in the morning before breakfast and sometimes in the evening, before dinner.
The kids love the place and we can watch them play from the comfort of the patio, sat there with a nice bottle of French wine taking in the vista, we traveled into nearby Vire for shopping and restaurants and Market day is on mondays in the back streets of Vire, acres of stalls selling everything you could think of and more, Albert is a great host and cannot do enough for you, if you need anything just ask Bert, the gite is well kitted out with all the luxury stuff you need when on Holiday and Sky TV to keep up with events back home, the bedrooms are very comfortable although a couple of Drawer units wouldn't be out of place in the bedrooms. you must after visiting the area take home a bottle of the local Calvados Cider scrumptious!!. The locals are friendly but tend to keep to themselves, however if you speak a little French they tend to open up more. I believe Albert is now selling up and whilst I wish him all the luck with a sale I still hope we can get another couple of summers at Berts place before he sells.
